SoHo Loft

New York City

Project Manager at Gabellini Sheppard Associates

Built to showcase the family’s extensive art collection, this 800-square-meters penthouse loft is washed in natural light from the numerous windows and skylights situated throughout. The family residence consists of an open, flowing interior with a mezzanine level and two twin terraces on the east and west offering views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges along with all of Lower Manhattan. The interior space is open yet broken into distinct living areas moving subtly from public to private. The kitchen, dining area and public lounge spaces, including a library, flow into the more private areas consisting of a family room, private gym, home office and bedrooms, including the mezzanine level master suite with his & hers bathrooms and dressing rooms. The space, complemented by its eclectic fusion of contemporary and vintage furniture, as well as custom designs reflects a balance among American and Scandinavian sensibilities, functional preferences, and models of domestic living.

The project has received the 2014 AIA (American Institute of Architects) Institute Honor Award for Interior Architecture and the Interior Design 2013 Best of Year Award.
